General

What does WPGetAPI do?

WPGetAPI is a free WordPress plugin (view it here), that allows you to connect your WordPress website to unlimited external API’s. WPGetAPI avoids the need for costly API developers as all configuration can be done in the WordPress admin area, by you!

How could this plugin be used?

You could use this plugin to:

  • get real estate listings from a real estate API and then display these on your website
  • display real-time local weather from a weather API
  • create your own AI powered website using the OpenAI API
  • create your own custom lead forms and send leads to your CRM or email marketing software
  • display charts from API data such as crypto prices or stock prices
  • import products from an affiliate API
  • display sports data such as football scores

Check out RapidAPI for thousands of API’s that can all be connected to your WordPress website.

Does this work with the WordPress REST API?

No, our plugins have nothing to do with the WordPress REST API.

The WordPress REST API allows your website to have it’s own API. Meaning that external applications or websites can connect to your API and get data from your website.

Our plugins work the opposite way – they are used to connect your website to external (3rd party) API’s.

Does this work with any API?

WPGetAPI works with virtually all API’s, as long as it is a REST API and follows the normal protocols of a REST API.

Does this work with other plugins that I have installed?

WPGetAPI has been tested with countless plugins and we have not seen any issues at all.

Our plugins work with, and integrate with many major plugins such as Gravity Forms, Elementor, DIVI, Contact Form 7, WPForms, ACF, WooCommerce, wpDataTables and many others.

I’ve used Postman before, is this similar?

In a way it is, you could think of WPGetAPI as a WordPress version of Postman. You could install WPGetAPI and then use it in a similar way as you would with Postman. You could use WPGetAPI as a simple way to test out API’s within WordPress.
